The stunning Troodos Mountains are coverd with beautiful pine forests some trees hundreds of years old. In winter months, slopes of Trodos became a popular place to ski. Mountains are situated on the south western side of Cyprus and they stretch from East towards West covering half this area. Peak Mount Olympus is the highest point of Trodos and is 1,952 meters heigh. In summer this is the ideal location for relaxing and enjoying a walking holiday in Cyprus. It’s also popular for bird-watching or cycling in pine scented forests. Trodos is also known for the mouflon that live on the slopes and lucky ones are most likely to see them on the western Troodos Mountains. Along the Trodos route there are many picturesque villages still with the feel of past simple life. Wine is also produced in this area and most of tavernas serve their products with famous meze.
