Paphos is a city on the southwest coast of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. Town has been inhabited since Neolithic times. As the myth says, Pafos was the place where Gods and Goddesses have spent time as a lot of myths come from this lovely island. To many Pafos is know as birthplace of Aphrodite the Goddess of love & beauty. Due to its historic past and many ancient sites, Pafos has been declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. Pafos town consists of 2 parts: Kato Pafos (New Pafos) & Pano Pafos (old town). The coast of Pafos offers all one can possibly want in leisure terms. Most visited part of the town is Pafos harbour area offering variou boat trips for visitors, plenty of bars and restaurants to chose from and famous historical site located within few square miles. Paphos Capital of Culture 2017, the initiative European Capital of Culture has run a significant course since its foundation in 1985. More than 50 cities have served as hosts, Upon being granted this title back in 2012, Pafos made this honour a responsibility as to everything it can achieve. The Organisation Pafos 2017 and its mission to bring to life the programme of the Open Air Factory is a stepping stone leading the city to new paths, mindsets and experiences. The Open Air Factory is an open invitation addressed to the artists, the citizens and the visitors of Pafos to come together and to co-create in different projects and networks. This will bring together different cities, countries and cultures, just like the motto “Linking Continents-Bridging Cultures” suggests.
