The picturesque village of Kalopanayiotis is famous for its traditional architecture, cobbled streets and Byzantine churches. Village is typical example of traditional community still not fully effected by modern day civilization. There are many old traditional houses with tiled rooftops, picturesque balconies, courtyards surrounded by the beautiful green vegetation of the Setrachos Valley. Village has few Byzantine churches, church of Saint Marina and Panayia Theotokos, the Chapels of Saint Andronikos and Saint Athanasia, Saint George, Saint Kyriakos, Archangelos Michael, Saint Sergios and Bachos and Panayia Theoskepasti. Nearby monastery of Saint John Lampadisitis is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
