Nicosia Region, Kakopetria Village
Village is named after an evil rock with kako meaning evil and petra rock in English. The myth says that big rock crashed into a church and crushed 2 newlyweds. Despite the historical reputation kakopetria has become a place where hospitality goes far. Village is located in foothills of Trodos mountains and is some 60 km from the capital of Cyprus Nicosia. The medieval parts of the village with winding streets filled with flower pots, quaint stone houses, lovely balconies and great restaurants are on the must see list for visitors.
