Fikardou is one of the fee old settlement on Cyprus that has retained its traditional medieval characteristics. Village is situated on the south eastern slopes of the Troodos Mountains, not far from the capital Nicosia approximately 40 km. Village is almost deserted. Fikardou is accesabel by two roads, one from Klirou and the other of Kalo Chorio Klirou. Nearby is well known Machairas Monastery. The village is owned by the Department of Antiquities, and has been declared a World Heritage Site in 1978.
